The Cause
Join us on September 10th, 2010 for a fun event dedicated to our cause of helping to eradicate childhood obesity in the Brookings region and beyond! Click here to register!
Our new program at Brookings Health System, commencing in October 2010, provides nutritional counseling to children and families enrolled in the program. Our private nutritional counseling will include:
- Financial assistance provided by our Aiming for Healthcare Excellence fundraiser for families entered into Brookings Health System's program.
- Analysis of current diet and exercise activities.
- Education about the food guide pyramid, healthy meal choices, shopping and food preparation, and homework activities for the child and family.
- Physical activity charting and encouragement of physical play accompanied by a one year membership at Brookings Boys and Girls' Club.
