Arlington Medical Center and White Medical Clinic will begin holding monthly foot care clinics starting in September. Cost per patient for each clinic is $30.

“We have a very popular foot care clinic offered every Tuesday at our hospital in Brookings,” said Chief Nursing Officer Tammy Hillestad. “We decided to offer the same services in our Arlington and White locations as outreach to help those patients receive their care locally and avoid a commute.”

The first foot care clinic date at Arlington Medical Center is Thursday, Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Subsequent 2012 Arlington clinic dates are Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

White Medical Clinic’s first foot care clinic will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with subsequent clinics scheduled for Oct. 24, Nov. 28 and Dec. 19.

The foot care clinics are led by Certified Foot Care Nurse Mandy Odegaard, who helps individuals who experience problems with bunions, hammer toes, corns, calluses, nail fungus, and other foot-related issues.

Odegaard is available to perform screenings and assessments for circulation, sensation, nails, skin and shoes. In addition, she offers treatments such as trimming and filing toenails, grinding thickened nails, buffing corns and calluses, and moisturizing and massaging feet. She also provides education for patients on daily foot care, proper inspection methods, footwear selection, exercises and precautions to protect feet.
