Free Deubrook Community Health Fair & Blood Drive is April 19

Everyone is invited to attend the free Deubrook Community Health Fair and Blood Drive on April 19 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. in the Deubrook Area Schools’ gym in White, SD.

Organized by Deubrook Area Schools, White Medical Clinic and Brookings Health System, this one-day health fair provides a convenient opportunity for community members to receive health screenings, visit one-on-one with health care professionals and learn more about services offered locally at White Medical Clinic.

“Health and information on ways to take better care of ourselves are valuable topics we can all learn more about,” said Paul Nepodal, principal of Deubrook Area Schools. “We are excited to partner with White Medical Clinic and Brookings Health System to bring this health fair to our community.”

The community blood drive will take place during the health fair.

Screenings offered

Even if you feel healthy, it can’t hurt to receive preventative health screenings, says Karen Bumann, Physician Assistant (P.A.) at White Medical Clinic.

“What if there is an underlying issue? These preventative screenings can help make us aware of issues before they become serious,” Bumann said. “Regular screenings can give you peace of mind.”

Screenings and services available at the health fair include:

• Glucose testing
• Blood pressure screening
• Vision screening
• Lipid panel for $25
• Fitness screening
• Student presentations
• Vial of L.I.F.E. give aways

In addition medical professionals will be available to meet one-on-one with attendees, including a foot care nurse, sleep study technologist, dietitian, pharmacist, and EMT.
