Nathan Anderson Hired as New Information Management Director at Brookings Health System

Nathan Anderson of Brookings, SD, was recently hired by Brookings Health System as the organization’s new information management director.
As information management director, Anderson is responsible for managing the development and implementation of information systems, data processing systems and related functional activities to support Brookings Health System’s information technology.
“Brookings Health System has a strong reputation for being on the leading edge of medical information technology, as evidenced by being the first hospital in South Dakota to reach HIMSS Stage 6 Electronic Medical Record rating in 2010,” said Anderson. “We plan to continue to stay at the forefront of technological innovations to always deliver the best in care to our friends and neighbors.”
For the past three years, Anderson served as the chief information officer at Link It Software Corporation in Milbank, S.D., where he managed the company’s IT infrastructure, long-term technology strategy, applications and IT staff.
Prior to his work at Link It Software Corporation, Anderson worked as the director of IT for VeraSun Energy Corporation of Brookings. During his three years at VeraSun, the company grew to be the largest publicly traded ethanol producer in the United States. While at VeraSun, he managed the IT infrastructure and staff at the company’s various locations. Anderson also served as vice president of information technology at investment management firm Capitaline Advisors, LLC, and as a systems analyst at Fishback Financial Corporation.
Anderson, who is originally from DeSmet, SD, holds a bachelor’s in electronics engineering and technology from SDSU and a master’s in information systems from DSU. He has also earned numerous IT certifications.
