Support the Foundation

Unrestricted cash gifts to the Brookings Health System Foundation support:

• Healthcare Financial Assistance
  Donations help those in need with transportation and prescriptions following their visit to the Brookings Health System Emergency Department.
• Health & Wellness Education
  Supports on-going training opportunities for Brookings Health System employees. Partnerships with Team Isaac and Forget-Me-Not organizations raise awareness of SIDS and provide comfort for families experiencing infant loss.
• Facility, Equipment and Technology Upgrades
  The recent “Progress Lives Here” capital campaign raised nearly $4.7 million for the hospital expansion and renovation.  Donations to the Foundation also helped support The Neighborhoods at Brookview skilled nursing facility (in 2013) and a new ambulance (in 2014).

Hospice provides pain management, emotional support, help with family care giving and spiritual care to patients and their families when a cure is not possible. 

Funds raised through the Foundation help provide educational training opportunities for staff along with music therapy for patients and their families.

Our partnership with Swiftel Center supports Tough Enough to Wear Pink. Funds are used locally to promote local cancer screening benefits, such as regular mammograms. Funds also help provide information about the importance of breast self-examination and promote local resources that are available for patients at Avera Medical Group Brookings and Brookings Health System.

Give a gift in memory of your loved one or in honor of a special care giver through our Grateful Patient Program, MyThanks Matters.  Gifts can be made online or by cash or check.

Donations are recognized at the membership levels indicated below. Recognition is based on a donor’s lifetime cumulative giving but donors may remain anonymous, if preferred. 

Pathfinder $25,000+

• One-time gift or annual giving over 10 years or less 
• Lifetime membership in the Prairie Nightingale Society (see below)
• Recognized on a permanent display within Brookings Health System

Prairie Nightingale Society $10,000+

• One-time gift or annual giving over 10 years or less 
• Lifetime membership for $10,000+ commitments 
• Invitation to member-only programs, including annual appreciation gathering
