1907 Brookings Hospital begins operation of a 21-bed facility.

1935 City of Brookings purchases Brookings Hospital.

1964 A 61-bed hospital was built in the current location at 300 22nd Avenue.

1971 Brookview Manor was built.

1989 Extensive renovation and expansion starts taking place in the facility.

2004 Brookhaven Estates, which provides congregate living in an independent setting, opens.

2007 Brookings Health System develops new brand identity and launches new Web site.

2008 Brookings Health System launches Meditech Health Information Technology.

2008 Brookings Health System logo wins 2008 Aster Gold Award and receives Merit Award from Healthcare Marketing Report advertising awards. 

2009 Brookings Health System buys Yorkshire Eye Clinic practice.

2009 Groundbreaking for Emergency Department and Lab remodel and expansion project.

2009 Brookings Health System buys Arlington Medical Center.

2009 Brookings Health System recognized with Advanced Electronic Medical Record Designation.

2011 Upgraded technology with the electronic medical health record and MRI.

2012 Brookings Health System opens White Medical Clinic.

2012 Brookings Health System breaks ground for a new skilled nursing facility.

2013 Brookings Health System becomes the third provider in South Dakota to offer advanced robotic-assisted surgical procedures. The Neighborhoods at Brookview skilled nursing facility opens.

2015 Volga Medical Clinic acquired; groundbreaking for $46.1 million hospital expansion and renovation.

2016 Medical Plaza physician office building opens.

2017 New Brookings Hospital expansion opens and renovation is complete.
