Brookings Health offers a variety of benefit and recognition programs to invest in our most important asset: our people.

Salary & Benefits

  • Our pay and benefits include opportunities for an annual TeamShare bonus and PTO payout, plus shift differentials and on-call pay for qualified positions.
  • Our comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage comes with either a health savings account (HSA) or flex plan to save pre-tax dollars plus optional AFLAC supplemental insurance coverage. 
  • Short-term disability, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment benefits are paid in-full by Brookings Health System. Employees have the opportunity to purchase additional coverage for themselves, spouse and dependent children. 
  • Through the South Dakota Retirement System (SDRS), we match 6% of employee contributions (8% for ambulance). Employees may also contribute to an optional supplemental retirement plan.
  • We invest in tomorrow’s workforce. We help with employees’ post-secondary education costs through tuition and loan forgiveness programs. We also offer sponsorship opportunities for workforce programs like the Build Dakota Scholarship.
  • We support employee growth by investing in continuing education and professional development, giving team members upskilling opportunities to help them succeed and use their strengths.

Recognition

  • We celebrate employee success through our recognition program where team members can send shoutouts to their peers. All team members can also nominate for our Employee of the Quarter program, plus we hold employee appreciation events throughout the year.
  • We participate in The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses to recognize the vital role nurses play in caring for our patients, residents and clients.
