80+ Year-Olds Wanting Vaccine Urged to Call Sanford Clinic

  • February 04, 2021

Brookings County residents 80 years of age or older who still have not received their COVID-19 vaccine are asked to call the Sanford Health Brookings Clinic at (605) 697-1900 to schedule a vaccine appointment.

“Our partnership with both the local Sanford and Avera clinics has allowed us to make great progress getting shots in arms these past two weeks,” said Brookings Health System CEO Jason Merkley. “We want to make sure we have offered a vaccine opportunity to everyone in Brookings County who is currently eligible in this 1d subcategory. The Sanford Clinic has graciously offered to vaccinate county residents 80 years of age or older who do not have a primary care relationship established in Brookings County.”

Currently the only individuals eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in 1d of South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) vaccination plan are individuals 80+ years of age; high-risk individuals with complex medical conditions; and people who live in congregate settings.

Individuals interested in receiving the vaccine when they are eligible may join the vaccine waiting list at brookingshealth.org/vaccine.
