Activities Update

  • Spring 2018

Where did the winter months go? We find ourselves in the midst of the spring weather excited to get outdoors and do things. The last few months have been enjoyable here at The Neighborhoods from Tuesday morning craft groups to blanket making and music in the afternoon, but most importantly fun times and good memories!

We continue to look for and schedule fun entertainment for the residents and have been lucky to offer a wide variety of musical talent to the residents. A lot of our entertainment comes from the Sioux Falls area and we are very lucky to have them drive the hour to come be with us. On average we have about 25 residents in attendance at every afternoon music program, sometimes more sometimes less depending upon the entertainer. A few times this winter we had to cancel music due to unforeseen weather that did not allow musicians to come in, with that a movie was shown…the residents LOVE movies and so do the staff!

We look forward to the spring weather and are “itching” to go on our first outing. Please watch the monthly calendar for upcoming outings and events. As always, we are in need of volunteers to assist with outings in the community. If you or someone you know are interested, please call (605) 696-9000 to contact the Human Resources Department at Brookings Hospital and ask to speak with Lisa Rasmussen.

Hope the melting snow and warmer temps finds you all happy and excited for SPRING!
