It has been a busy summer to say the least. A few weeks ago we had a sprinkler head burst in our Town Center, flooding the area with water. We had a great response from our local firefighters as well as our facility staff. Thankfully it was not in a resident area and no one was injured. We did have to block off the park area in the Town Center for approximately two weeks while we restored it back to its original state. I want to thank all of you for your patience during that difficult time.

It is that time of year again when we will be sending out our Resident/Family Satisfaction Surveys. Please take the time to fill those out and write any comments that you have. We value your thoughts and hope that your experience in our facility is a pleasant one. I will report our results in our next newsletter.

Our annual facility picnic will be coming up in August and I look forward to seeing all of you there. We always have a great turnout and we are hoping that the weather cooperates like last year. We will be having Hy-Vee cater the meal and we will also provide some awesome 50’s music.

Jill Kerr has recently retired from our facility after an amazing 43 years of service to Brookings Health System. She was such an asset to our facility and we wish her the best in retirement. We have since hired a new social worker, Debbie Hansen. Debbie comes to us from Madison, SD. She has extensive experience in geriatrics and will fit right in with our wonderful team. Please stop by and introduce yourself to Debbie.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and we look forward to seeing you in the facility.

God Bless!
