  • Spring 2019

Jason Hanssen, AdministratorWith winter hopefully behind us, we can start to look forward to some nicer weather. This has been one of the worst winters that I can remember and it definitely took its toll on everyone. Our residents and staff are excited to start spring activities/outings. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with our large group outings, so if you have some free time, please contact Jessie or Amanda Uecker.

The Neighborhoods at Brookview will once again be hosting an Easter lunch on April 21 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. If you want to attend our Easter lunch, the cost is $10 per person with children under the age of 8 eating for free. Please RSVP to Joyce at 696-8775 no later than April 16 so we can plan accordingly.

I am extremely happy to announce that South Dakota nursing facilities will be receiving a 10% increase in Medicaid funding starting in July. Many of you have heard of the recent closures around the area and the impact that it had in those communities. Our thoughts and prayers certainly go out to those residents, families and staff that were affected. With South Dakota having the lowest Medicaid reimbursement rate in the United States, we are very grateful for the 10% increase. We will continue to fight for higher Medicaid reimbursement rates in the future and we hope you will join in that fight as well.

As always, we appreciate all that you do for our residents and staff at the Neighborhoods at Brookview.

God Bless,
Jason Hanssen, LNHA
