Brandon Andrews, wide receiver on South Dakota State’s football team and a senior pre-physical therapy/exercise science major, was selected by the Athletic Department Scholarship Committee as the 2015-16 recipient of the Brookings Health System Health Professions Scholarship in athletics.

“The Health Professions Scholarship allows Brookings Health System to invest in tomorrow’s work force by helping future health care providers achieve their career goals,” said CEO and President Jason Merkley. “We congratulate Brandon on his academic excellence and we’re enjoying cheering the Jackrabbit football team this fall.”

Brookings Health System established the Health Professions Scholarship in 2008. It recognizes a student who is a sophomore level or above, has a cumulative 3.0 GPA and is enrolled on the Brookings campus. Eligible students should major in a health related field, including athletic training, nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, psychology, pre-med, pre physical therapy or medical lab science.
