Karen Bumann

Karen Bumann, certified physician assistant at White Medical Clinic, will provide education on breast cancer awareness on Oct. 24 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Country View Apartments dining room, 100 Patrick Avenue in White.

“October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Bumann. “One in eight U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. Screening and early detection is key to overcoming this disease. Learning how to detect breast changes is a critical step for early detection.”

Bumann will provide education for women on how to conduct breast self-exams. She will also present information on clinical breast exams and mammograms as well as South Dakota’s All Women Count! breast and cervical screening program.

All community members are welcome to attend. For more information or to schedule a clinical breast exam with Bumann, contact White Medical Clinic at (605) 629-3333.
