Brookings Health Stays on Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital List

For the eighth consecutive year Brookings Health System has been included by The Chartis Center for Rural Health on the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals list. The annual recognition program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®.
“Our team has earned this recognition each year since its inception in 2016,” said President and CEO Jason Merkley. “To consistently be recognized as a rural and community hospital leader demonstrates the high caliber of quality healthcare Brookings Health delivers to our community day-in and day-out.”
Based entirely on publicly available data, the INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Utilizing 50 independent indicators, the INDEX assesses performance across eight pillars of performance that span market-, value- and finance-based categories.
