Proceeds to Support Hospital Expansion & Renovation Capital Campaign

Brookings Health System Foundation will hold the sixth annual Aiming to Inspire Health sporting clays fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Medary Creek Hunt Club, rural Aurora, S.D., presented by First Bank & Trust.

Proceeds from the 2015 event go toward the Progress Lives Here capital campaign goal of $4.6 million to support the hospital expansion and renovation project.

The project includes a 62,500 square foot addition to the Brookings Hospital. This will increase capacity to serve more patients with easy access to imaging and same-day surgery. A new 30,000 square-foot medical office building connected to the hospital will attract providers and specialists so patients do not have to leave town to access care. The project will also satisfy customer expectations of privacy and confidential transport.

“Community members and businesses have already given $2.1 million, nearly 50 percent of the capital campaign goal,” said Foundation Development Officer Barb Anderson. “The sporting clays event is an additional way for individuals and organizations alike to have fun while helping to support the future of health care in our community.”

Families, businesses, youths and adults are encouraged to participate at the event through sponsorships and team registrations. Registrations for individuals or teams of four  include a meal and ammunition. All paid registrations received by July 24 are eligible to win an early bird prize.

In addition to First Bank & Trust, event sponsors to date include Larson Manufacturing, Daktronics, Dacotah Bank, Iberdrola Renewables, Twin City Fan, Banner Associates, WW Tire, Sanford Health Brookings Clinic, The Exchange, Runnings Farm & Fleet, Back in Motion Chiropractic, Clites Electric, Kjergaard Sports, Scheels Sioux Falls, Allegra, Central Business Supply, Brookings Radio, Brookings Register, Walmart and Gas ‘N Mor.
