Brookings Health System to Hold Five-Week Educational Series, Understanding Grief

Brookings Health System will hold a five-week educational series, Understanding Grief, led by Mavis Gehant, social worker. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings at Brookings Health System from Oct. 20 to Nov. 17, 6:30 - 8 p.m.

"Given the recent tragedies within our community, Brookings Health System feels it is our duty to help our neighbors cope and grieve during what may be a difficult and confusing time," says Interim CEO Kevin Coffey. "We invite everyone within our community to participate and learn about the grieving process."

Class topics to be covered include understanding grief, factors that influence grief, grief and families, complicated grief, caring for one's self, and rituals, memories and resources.
