Brookings Health System to Hold Seventh Annual EMS Rodeo

In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, Brookings Health System’s Ambulance Service will hold their seventh annual EMS Rodeo on Monday, May 19 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Park.

The event is free to the public and includes a picnic, inflatable games, face painting, ambulance tours, and practice CPR.

National EMS Week, May 18-24, honors the dedication of EMTs, paramedics, first responders, and others who provide lifesaving services to our community.

“Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rates of those who experience sudden illness or injury,” said Chief Nursing Officer Tammy Hillestad. “Our team of emergency medical technicians and paramedics are always ready to provide compassionate, lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

Brookings Health System’s Ambulance Service provides emergency 911 Advanced Life Support (ALS) services for the City of Brookings, much of Brookings county and the communities of Aurora, Bruce, Bushnell, Sinai, and Volga. The ambulance service also assists area ambulance services from Arlington, Clear Lake, Elkton, Estelline, White and Lake Preston when requested.
