Brookings Health System to Offer Free OB Education
- January 16, 2014
Brookings Health System announced today the organization will offer the popular childbirth preparation and breastfeeding classes free of charge starting in 2014.
“It’s important for parents-to-be to know and understand what to expect during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as how to care for and feed their baby after delivery,” said Chief Nursing Officer Tammy Hillestad. “By making these classes free of charge, Brookings Health System aims to support moms and dads alike in giving their babies the best start in life.”
Parents who are having a baby and are interested in the free pregnancy classes may register online at www.brookingshealth.org/Events.
Brookings Health System’s OB unit, New Beginnings Birth Center, has eight-beds with three labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) rooms and five postpartum recovery rooms. The unit provides full OB services to expectant parents and enables area residents to deliver their baby close to home with a local physician.
