Dr. Alex Qader Joins Brookings Health’s Emergency Department

Dr. Alex Qader, M.D., recently joined the emergency department at Brookings Health System.

As an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Qader will treat and care for patient who visit the ER. Duties include assessing a patient’s health status and condition, beginning treatment, and ordering tests as needed. He will also work with the emergency room team to stabilize and treat patients who experience acute health problems or traumatic injuries.

Dr. Qader received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies. He performed his residency in family medicine at the East Tennessee State University Family Residency Program in Johnson City, TN. He also performed a mentorship in emergency medicine at Niswonger Childrens Hospital in Johnson City, TN. He has served as the ER section chief at Royal C. Johnson Veterans’ Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls.
