This summer was about family and friends in the Elm Pass and Pine Trail Neighborhood.

In August, the residents, family, and staff enjoyed the annual picnic. Pine Trail’s own Harold Widvey stole the show! He lent his vocals to musician Bruce Dysthe, singing Roses are Red to entertain the crowd after the meal. Everyone had a good time.

One of the goals of the household model is to achieve a “family feel” which can be felt by both residents and staff. CNA Allison LaVoie demonstrated this feeling at the end of August. She painted a “Family Tree” as a thank you to the residents before moving west to pursue a degree in chiropractic studies. She had been an employee for the past three years. Resident Irene Groon says the feeling is mutual. “I miss her. She was great and easy to talk to.” She went on to say, “You all are, but I miss those that have been here a while.”

The painting is on display at the entrance to the Elm and Pine Neighborhood.
