Free Understanding Grief Education Classes to be held this Fall

Brookings Health System will once again hold its popular six-week educational series, Understanding Grief, led by Social Worker Mavis Gehant.

Classes will be held on Thursdays at Brookings Health System beginning on October 3. There will be two separate classes. One class will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and the other class will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants may attend either class.

Class topics to be covered include symptoms and the process of grief, coping strategies, caring for one’s self, and the continuing bond.
