Free Webcast on Grief Set for Nov. 12

  • October 22, 2014

Brookings Health System and United Living Community will present, Grief: What Helps When it Hurts, free webcast on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brookings Health System’s hospital, conference rooms A and B.

The one-hour webcast from the Hospice Foundation of America explores the ways grief affects people, including physically, emotionally and spiritually. The program also covers signs to be aware of that indicate people may need the help of counselors, clergy or support groups as they cope with especially complicated losses. It also discusses ways people can help one another through observing customs, talking with others, and learning about loss and recovery.

The program will benefit professionals at all levels, including nurses, social workers, and counselors; professionals working in hospice, long-term or home care; and individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Advanced registration is appreciated by Nov. 10. To register or learn more, please contact Pastor George Gehant at (605) 696-7505 or ggehant@unitedalive.com.
