MyHealth Patient Portal Allows Secure Online Access to Medical Records

Starting June 30, Brookings Health System patients will have the opportunity to have their medical records at their fingertips 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Brookings Health System’s new MyHealth patient portal allows patients access to their personal health information securely online for visits after January 1, 2012.
MyHealth allows patients to view, print, and securely share or send their medical records. They can also manage upcoming appointments, access discharge instructions, update personal health information, manage medical history and share secure access of medical records with family members.
MyHealth patient portal is free to patients who have received care at Brookings Health System facilities. Additional information on how to sign up for MyHealth is available at www.brookingshealth.org/MyHealth. Onscreen directions take the patient step by step through the registration process, making it quick and easy for patients to access their information.
In order to register, patients must provide the requested information such as a username, password, email address, two security questions, name, date of birth and the patient code given to them by Brookings Health System. Patients receive their code when they come in for an appointment or visit, by providing an email address. However, if they want to access their information and have not had a recent visit, they can request a patient code by emailing MyHealthSupport@brookingshealth.org or calling (605) 696-8000.
Medical records can be accessed at any time and anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. Patients will have access to hospital medical records from 2012 to the present. The portal will help patients become active in managing their own health care.
