New Year’s Baby Arrives at Brookings Health System

A son was born to Xieyang Tao and her husband, Doug O’Mara, of Oldham, S.D., on Monday, Jan. 7, making him the first baby of the New Year born at Brookings Health System.

Rob O’Mara arrived at 10:34 p.m. He weighed seven pounds and one ounce and measured 20 inches long. Mother and baby are both doing well. He is the first child for the couple.

As the New Year’s Baby, Rob and his parents received a variety of toys, baby products, and over $600 in cash, gift certificates and services from local businesses and organizations.
