New Year’s Baby Born at Brookings Hospital

Baby boy Hussein Sari arrived this morning at 5:02 a.m., making him the first baby of 2019 born at Brookings Hospital.

Hussein is the son and third child of Hajar Hameed Addeen and Emad Sari of Brookings. He joins older sister Fatmah and older brother Mohsen. He weighed seven pounds and ten ounces and measured 19.75 inches long. Mother and baby are both doing well.

The New Year’s Baby and his parents received a variety of toys, baby products, and, gift certificates of cash and services from local businesses and organizations. Contributors to the New Year’s Baby gift basket include:
