Funds go to new skilled nursing facility's therapy gym

Hunting and firearm enthusiasts showed full support of the Brookings Health System Foundation last Thursday evening at the third annual Aiming to Inspire Health sporting clays fundraiser. The event was held at Medary Creek Hunt Club, rural Aurora, S.D., and presented by First Bank & Trust.

“From sponsorships, shooting registrations, raffle tickets, and silent auctions, the event raised approximately $17,500 in net proceeds, all of which will go to fund needed equipment for the new skilled nursing facility’s therapy gym,” said Foundation Development Officer Barb Anderson.

Hunter Jensen walked away with the top youth shooter award with a score of 24. Connor Rude was the top adult shooter with a score of 42. Both received $100 Scheels gift cards. Team Harry Mansheim State Farm was the top team with a score of 140. Team members Danny Foerster, Scott Bullington, Riley Bullington, and Heath Bullington each received a $50 Scheels gift card.

First runner up in the raffle drawing was Len Smith, who received a $100 Scheels gift card. Grand prize winner Sherry Cappel took home the pair of VIP 49cc gas scooters. Silent auction recipients included Steven Hogie for the quartzite garden bench from LG Everist, Al Lee for the one-day guided fishing trip for two from Mike Tietjen of Wild Dakota Television, and Gary Isenberg for the hunting gear package from Kjerstads Sports of Lake Benton, Minn.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of our sponsors, volunteers and participants who helped make the event a success this year,” said Anderson.
