  • May 10, 2012

Brookings Health System will once again offer the popular Safe Sitter Class this summer. The first session is scheduled for May 30-31, and the second session is scheduled for Aug. 2-3. Classes are from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in hospital conference rooms A and B.

The Safe Sitter Class is recommended for 11- to 13-year old boys and girls who are interested in babysitting and working with younger children. Education includes first aid and CPR.

Participants will need to attend both days during a session and should pack a sack lunch for their noon meal. Parents may attend a completion ceremony at the end of day two. Participants will also receive an informational packet for at-home parent education.

Cost is $50; children whose parents work at Brookings Health System may attend for $25. Currently, there is a wait list for the May class, but openings are still available for the August class. To register, please contact Heidi Faehnrich at (605) 696-8811 or hfaehnrich@brookingshealth.org.
