Sanford Pulmonary Medicine Clinic now performs outreach at Brookings Health System’s specialty outreach clinic. Pulmonologists Dr. Ashraf Elshami and Dr. David Thomas see patients monthly in Brookings.

Sanford Pulmonary Medicine Clinic’s physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating respiratory tract and lung diseases. They help patients manage conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis and emphysema as well as sleep disorders. They are able to order sleep studies for patients at Brookings Health System’s sleep diagnostics facility.

Dr. Elshami attended Temple University in Philadelphia. He performed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania and his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, both in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American College of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.

Dr. Thomas attended the University of Colorado in Aurora, Col. He performed his residency and fellowship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Col. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine.
