SDSU Students to Perform Free Blood Pressure Checks and Glucose Screening at Hospital

  • January 31, 2013

SDSU pharmacy and nursing students will perform free blood pressure checks and glucose screening at Brookings Health System’s hospital front lobby on Feb. 18, 19, 21 and 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. each day.

The event is held annually by the SDSU chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists.

“The SDSU student pharmacist chapter’s goal, in according with the American Pharmacists Association, is to raise awareness about health issues concerning our community, promote better health practices, and give patients the power to take back their health,” said SDSU Pharmacy Doctoral Candidate Stephanie Flores. “We want the community to use pharmacists as a health resource and let people know we are always here to help.”

Persons interested in the free blood pressure checks and glucose screenings may walk in at any time during the event. For more information, call (605) 696-9000.
