Super Hero 5K Fun Run-Walk Raises Funds Local Heroes

Proceeds to Support Veterans in Brookings Area

Anyone looking for an excuse to dress like their favorite super hero for a morning should look no further than the Super Hero 5K Fun Run-Walk on Sept. 6, 2014. Brookings Health System and Hy-Vee have teamed up to host the event to raise money for veterans.

Proceeds of the event will go toward the monetary needs of veterans in the community. The race starts and ends at Larson Park in Brookings. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the race kicks off at 9:00 a.m. For those over the age of 16, the cost of the race is $5.

Those participating in the event should come dressed in their favorite super hero costume for a chance to win prizes. Prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams of no more than six with the best super hero costumes.

Registration forms are located at www.brookingshealth.org/FunRun and can be dropped off at Brookings Health System or Hy-Vee Pharmacy/Customer Service. Those who register will be eligible for door prizes.
