Super Hero 5K Fun Run & Walk Registration Open

Event to Include 1-Mile Kids’ Race & Family Health Fair

This year’s event will also include a kids’ 1-mile run and a family-oriented health fair inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. This year’s event will also include a kids’ 1-mile run and a family-oriented health fair inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. Brookings Health System and Brookings Hy-Vee will once again host the Super Hero 5K Fun Run and Walk on Saturday, Oct. 15. The race will start and end at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex (S-JAC).

The event will include a kids’ 1-mile race at 8:30 a.m. with the main race starting at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero; prizes will be given for the best costumes. All participants will receive a race t-shirt and participating children will receive a race medal, courtesy of race sponsors Brookings Dental Clinic, Century Business Products and Brookings Auto Mall.

In addition to the races, the event will include a family-oriented health fair with informational booths on wellness activities, safety, and nutrition. Fun activities and games for all ages will also be available.

Cost is $10 for adults $5 for the kids’ 1-mile run. Race packets may be picked up 45 minutes before the kids’ 1-mile start. Participants may register online at www.brookingshealth.org/SuperHero.
