  • February 07, 2022

Brookings Health System’s free six-week educational series, Understanding Grief, will begin on Tuesday, Mar. 1. The class series is led by Social Worker Donna Bumann, M.S.

Classes will be held on Tuesdays at Brookings Health System in Conference Room C. There will be two class sessions. The afternoon session will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and the evening session will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The content will be the same for both sessions.

The classes are designed to help those who have lost a loved one learn about the process of grief and how to navigate it. Topics include the symptoms and process of grief, coping strategies, caring for one’s self, and the continuing bond that occurs. Discussions are confidential and carried out in an atmosphere of understanding and support.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be implemented for the class, including mask wearing and social distancing.
