Watson Receives Recognition as a Certified Radiology Administrator

Tim Watson, imaging director at Brookings Health System, has received the credential of Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) through the Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC). Watson now holds the CRA designation.

Watson joined Brookings Health System’s staff in 1998 and has spent the past four years as the imaging director. Prior to working at the health system, he worked for Rapid City Regional Hospital and Sioux Valley Family Practice Physicians in Sioux Falls. Watson holds a bachelor’s degree from SDSU and attended radiologic technology school at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

The Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) program is the first and only credentialing opportunity recognizing the range of skills and expertise an imaging administrator possesses. The credential was designed to recognize professional competencies in five key medical imaging management areas:

  • Financial Management
  • Communication and Information Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Operations Management
  • Asset Management

Candidates who meet education and experience requirements and pass a national examination are awarded the credential CRA, recognizes medical imaging management excellence.
