White Medical Clinic to Participate in Vaccines for Children Government Program

  • August 13, 2012

White Medical Clinic has begun participating in Vaccines for Children (VFC), a federally and state funded immunization program that provides free vaccines to uninsured and Medicaid eligible children.

White Medical Clinic can provide VFC immunizations for eligible children ages birth through 18 years, regardless of state residency.

To be eligible, children must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Medicaid-eligible
  • Uninsured
  • American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Underinsured

VFC vaccines protect children against the following 16 diseases:

  • Diphtheria
  • Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Influenza
  • Measles
  • Meningococcal disease
  • Mumps
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Polio
  • Rotavirus
  • Rubella (German measles)
  • Tetanus (lockjaw)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)

Each shot has a nominal administration fee. Vaccines will not be denied based on an inability to pay with the administration fee waived for families who cannot afford it.

White Medical Clinic can also provide childhood immunizations for children covered by private and commercial insurance who do not meet the VFC program criteria.

In addition, the clinic offers adult vaccinations, including combined tetanus and diphtheria vaccine, flu vaccine, pertussis (whooping cough) one-time booster combined with tetanus and diphtheria vaccine, the “shingles shot”, and pneumonia vaccine. TB skin testing is also available.
