Brookings Health System and Avera Medical Group Specialty Care will host a free seminar discussing joint replacement options on Tuesday, April 23 starting at 6 p.m. in Brookings Hospital Conference Room A.
For the second time in three years, the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) named Brookings Health System as a Top 20 Rural Community Hospital in the nation. The health system will be recognized at an awards ceremony during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit on May 9 in Atlanta.

Brookings Health System Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Valero Energy Foundation in support of the new Ambulance Station and Education Center which recently opened along Yorkshire Drive.
Volga Medical Clinic, located at 210 Kasan Ave. in Volga, is scheduled to close for approximately four weeks of remodeling. Remodeling will start after Tuesday, Mar. 28, the last day the clinic will see patients. The clinic is targeted to reopen at the end of April.

Brookings Health System was recently named one of the 2019 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, ranking in the top two percent of all rural and community hospitals nationally. This is the fourth consecutive year Brookings Health has been included on the list.
Brookings Health System will hold the first American Heart Association CPR Course for the public at the new Ambulance Station and Education Center on Thursday, March 7 from 6 to 9 p.m.
To further develop the volunteer doula program for parents delivering their baby at New Beginnings Birth Center, Brookings Health System will again host the popular DONA Birth Doula workshop on April 27 and 28.
Brookings Health System’s free six-week educational series, Understanding Grief, will begin on Monday, Mar. 11. The class series is led by Social Worker Denise Larson, MSW, CSW.
