During the month of September, Brookings Health System’s Wound Care team is encouraging community members to donate new pairs of socks to those in need locally. A collection box is located inside Brookings Health System’s 22nd Avenue entrance through September 30.

Safe@Home Course Prepares Kids to Stay Home Alone
Brookings Health System will offer Safe@Home by SafeSitter®, a program designed for students in grades 4 to 6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. The class will be held on Wednesday, July 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. inside the Ambulance Station and Education Center, 2300 Yorkshire Drive.

Safe Sitter Course Set for July 13
Registration is now open for Brookings Health System’s popular Safe Sitter Class. Paramedic Wendy Long will teach a session on Tuesday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ambulance Station and Education Center, 2300 Yorkshire Drive.

Free, Walk-In Vaccination Center Set for June 9
The Brookings County Pandemic Planning and Coordination Committee (PPCC) will hold a free, walk-in COVID-19 community vaccination center, also referred to as a point of dispensing (POD), on Wednesday, June 9. The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swiftel Center in Brookings.
