Pediatric Cardiology Services to Start at Brookings Health’s Outreach Clinic
Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Eric Towe, M.D., of Avera Medical Group Pediatric Specialists, will begin seeing patients at Brookings Health System’s outreach clinic. He will be available to see patients the first Monday of every-other-month starting June 6.
New Transport Ventilator Provides Critical Support During Patient Transfers
Brookings Health System’s respiratory care department recently invested in a new, state-of-the-art Hamilton-T1 transport ventilator. The new ventilator will allow care teams to easily transfer critical patients, such as those with severe pneumonia from COVID-19, who need additional breathing support.
Wireless Cardiac Event Monitors Help Diagnose Abnormal Heart Rhythms
Brookings Health recently added Zio wireless cardiac event monitors to its outpatient cardiopulmonary services. The new monitors will help diagnose patients with infrequent or temporary abnormal heart rhythms, such as atrial fibrillation (A-fib) or atrial flutter.
