Hi, I just wanted to say that we received phenomenal care. The doctor was really good, very informative, very knowledgeable, kind. Same with the nurse and the nurse's aid. I don't go to Brookings a lot because I work in the ER. I usually use R, but I just want to say that I was very impressed. I've always had good visits there when I have pain. It's been very many and I hope I don't have more, but just want to say that I had wonderful care.

It was the worst experience I've felt in my whole life. I was given an IV to lower my blood pressure that dropped it drastically. The pressure on my chest was unbareable. I was transported to Sioux Falls to help me get through what the ER did to me. I pray that I will not return to ER due to the experience I went through.

I spent 6 hours at the ER, only came in for a CT Scan requested by my optometrist.

Yes, I wasted about an hour and a half of them trying to find veins to take blood. They find me, find me. Got a lady and we killed a lot of time. I figured, that was the only thing real good. I think I got shot up about eight or nine times before this one lady come in and found it right away. Thanks.

I wasn't informed of my test results after I left, and I had to call back to get them although they said they would leave me a message.

I can't remember the name of the doctor who took care of me, but whoever I saw in the emergency room, I've seen him twice, both in the emergency room and he's treated me very well both times. He's a very good doctor and made the visit very easy and made me feel better in no time and I was able to get out of there and I really appreciate it.

We arrived around 9:30pm and left around 3:45am. I explained what I believed was wrong with me and what I needed to fix me, was a particular nausea shot. The Dr. said they didn't have that shot any more and tried to convince me to have unnecessary tests such as EKG, CT Scan, X-Ray, Covid/Flu test, which I refused. Instead, they snuck in a blood test which showed slightly low sodium. Waited over 2 hours for lab results. I had told them I had a breast lumpectomy in Sioux Falls that morning and I had paperwork that showed the symptoms I was having may have been caused by the anesthesia/pain meds. I finally agreed to an IV to relieve the low sodium. The first try was unsuccessful. On the second try, it leaked all over my arm and the nurse just pulled the needle out and left the room without speaking. Then the Dr. came in and asked if I would like that shot I originally asked for that he had said earlier they didn't have. I asked for another nurse to come in and try again (I think she was the supervisor). It was successful. Keep in mind during this whole period of time we must have seen 7 different people asking the same questions, which my husband had to answer, as I was busy throwing up. Also, I had to unhook myself from the monitors and the alarm just kept going off for hours with nobody stopping it. Earlier I asked to be admitted to the hospital, but the Dr. said I didn't meet the criteria. Then after the IV bag was empty and I felt better, he asked me if I wanted to go home or be admitted to the hospital. I hadn't eaten or slept for over 24 hours and had a migraine earlier before I went to the ER. I requested some water from various nurses but could not get any. Sounded like the Dr. was withholding water pending lab results. I just wanted to freshen up my mouth because of the constant vomiting/dry heaves. The only person I saw that was compassionate was Olivia, I believe a tech. I opted to go home after this ordeal was over.

The services at the hospital were fabulous. The EMTs, however, left a little to be desired. It took 20 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. They did not secure my head, even though I hit my head when I was going down, and I have documented neck issues. And they asked multiple times if I was sure I wanted to go to the emergency room in the ambulance or if I wouldn't rather just have someone else take me. They doubted my injury and were not as professional or quick as they could have or should have been. I should have been in a neck collar as well.

The nurse, Kaylee, needs to get a better bedside manner about her. She was rude, inconsiderate to the amount of pain I was in, and when I was finally given something for the pain, she shoved the needle so far into my arm it hit the bone. If she was like that with me, I would hate to see how she is with children. Dr. Qader is a wonderful ER doctor he listens very thoroughly, and makes sure that I am comfortable with what is happening and what he intends to do.

Everybody was really nice, except for when it came to doing certain things with an autistic child. And I think that maybe you need to stop and think that not all kids are capable of doing and listening to what you're telling them to do and have a little more compassion on them. Otherwise, the visit was good.

After I left the emergency room, I brought my children to Stanford Emergency Room where he was admitted for severe dehydration and hospitalized in the children's hospital. I wish more labs would have been checked and he would have been looked at more thoroughly instead of just discharged saying it was a viral illness.

I thought the emergency room and my visit was just awesome. Everybody was, I didn't need for anything. If I asked for anything, they were right there. They kept checking on me, making sure, telling me how long things would take. I was just very impressed with them and hopefully I don't need them again, but if I do, I will definitely go back. Thank you.

The nurses and the doctor were extremely friendly. We did end up being in there for three hours and we weren't informed that the emergency department had gotten really busy. So we ended up being there for like three hours and just, it took a really long time. And also maybe some cleanliness issues. The room we were in had drops of blood on the floor that did not come from my daughter. The pulse oximeter had blood on it that was not from my daughter. So there's some hygiene concerns. And the trash can in their room was full of bloody gauze. So that is my comments. Thank you.

I've had two experiences with the ER here recently, and I'm a nurse myself, and neither time was where myself asked if we were comfortable, or my child, if anybody needed a blanket, maybe something to drink, and the nurse giving my child medication just got a glass of tap water from the hand-washing sink. I'm not used to that.

I guess the only thing that I really wanted to talk about is the fact that her urine sample was just left in the bathroom unattended for almost 15 minutes, which was kind of odd. But other than that, thank you for everything.

I gave blood. Then it took about an hour for the results. It was very nice to know that evening that the results showed that my blood was moving in the normal range. At the end of the visit, I appreciated getting papers for me to read so I had an idea what to do next. Plus I could show them to my caregiver.
