Day and night staff were both excellent. Morgan RN really was exceptional. I noticed many of the nurses consulting with her regarding patient care.

I am the son of the patient who stood in hospital. From the day 1 of my stay I felt like I was at the right medical with most appropriate care. I love Brooking Health System as one of the best not only to my mom but to all who are here and need better care. God bless Brooking Health System.

The care was outstanding. The nurses were fantastic while I was in ICU. The 2 doctors were so knowledgeable and helpful. I was safe, provided for, and taken care of with professionalism, kindness, caring, and info was shared with me. The only thing is maybe instead of taking blood from me each am by a tech who came into room, could you next time use an IV or portal as the Avera hospital did? I'm very thankful as everyone was treating and monitoring my pneumonia and AFIB, and I'm so grateful, when the decision was made to transport me to Avera Heart hospital.

My nurses were excellent except for one who did not help with my shower, except to say I was whining when I complained about how hard the towels were. I am 87, weigh 105# and she left my IV on until I was discharged when she knew I would not need it again. Some training with elderly patients needs to happen!

Really need to improve on the ground meat served to hospital patients. It is just a hard slab from a frozen patty very hard to chew and quite tasteless.

Not consistent. Sometimes hands not washed, sometimes IV not cleaned with alcohol. Drs. didn?t communicate. No specialist on weekend. Not enough selection of foods. Rooms were not always cleaned. When Drs. didn?t communicate with each other the patient got confused - put on NPO, they might do surgery but the next day I could eat, then that night NPO again.

One overnight nurse that came in to hang a new IV bag of saline was not responsive to my telling her the IV was hurting, then was hurried when starting a new IV and I left the hospital with 2 large bruises from her being too rushed and having to try 2 times to start a new IV.

Brookings Hospital could show other healthcare facilities what REAL healthcare should be. I have been hospitalized many times in other facilities and Brookings Hospital is, by far, the best.
