The physician that dealt with me was phenomenal. I have seen him before and I cannot tell you how great he was, as well as his staff, the nurses, everyone, super nice, super, and very professional and gave me feedback and helped me out. I was dehydrated and they got me a drip to make me feel better. Before discharge, they gave me all the information I needed. Very professional, world-class customer service for me. I can't say any more about it except for how great they treated me. Very professional. Thank you.

Terrible emergency services, no experience with the doc, nurses just sitting at desks when we needed help.

Well, things were going well and the outcome was good and I knew what I should be doing after the doctors and nurses were able to let me know exactly what I should be doing after I was discharged. So, thank you.

The young receptionist was playing on her personal phone when my husband went in to get help, she would not call for help for my husband to get a wheelchair or help get me out of the car. She was rude and disrespectful and told him he could just take a wheelchair. Then when we were entering the ED department she was filing her nails!! She rudely said " what's your name", I told her and said I was having shortness of breath and needed help. She did not call for help and pushed the electric signing plate towards me and told me to sign it. I asked her what I was signing and she said she was getting to that. I found out it was the consent for treatment form. I never did get a HIPPA form to sign!! She made us sit there for over 10 minutes before she called for someone to come and get me. I had told her I have a history of pulmonary emboli's and needed to be seen asap, she just laughed at me and continued to ignore my request. Later she was back at the nurses desk laughing it up with the staff there and when she saw me she just smirked at me and turned her head away. My husband and I both felt disrespected and that she patronized us.

It was a good experience. We would have liked to have been informed that they thought my husband had experienced a TIA; we learned this from the written info they gave us. Ideally, they could have told us a wait time estimate, but there was a poster on the wall w/ wait times on it, so that was helpful. Staff were very prompt and friendly; we appreciated that very much!

I thought the service was pretty good. I thought I could have, the doctor could have explained a little bit more what was going on. However, they were very diligent about making sure that nothing bad happened and that they were able to get me in to see the ENT very quickly. And so I really appreciated that.

I was so impressed by the care that I received, the quickness of it, and the explanation of everything that was going on. I am from New Jersey and have not spent a lot of time in emergency rooms, but I had vertigo and I just could not have been happier. Everything that you have is state of the art and I was really impressed.

Excellent care. I was taken care of really well. Excellent customer service, care to me as a customer and client, treated with the utmost respect. I would have to say just great, top-notch customer service and got me to where I needed to go and took very well care of me. It's the best, absolute best. And I was so blown away with how they treated me, the best. Thank you.

I explained to everyone I had white coat syndrome so my blood pressure is usually high in those situations. They continued to monitor for 3 hours which I didn't think I needed to be kept that long since I was not having anything like light headedness, dizziness or headaches. When I returned home my blood pressure returned to normal readings.

The service I was provided at the Brookings ER was good, when it was there. It took over three hours, from the time I walked in the door, before I started properly receiving treatment for my injury. For reference, I was injured at ˜ noon, got to the ER in <30min, waited three hours in a room with minimal care(vitals and one pain injection), and then left the ER after the stitches at ˜4:30pm. That is a very long time to wait for stitches, while I continue to actively Bleed into my temporary bandages. I assume this was due to poor staffing and/or high activity. I respect and am willing to understand the situation, but that does not alter the fact my ER visit was made the least pleasant possible with that blind wait time.Doctor, "Waiting to hear back from the hand specialist." I spoke to said same hand specialist Thursday, she told me, "yeah, it did Not take me three hours to respond." I had the worst injury of my previous ER visits and my treatment/wait time was The Worst I have ever had to deal with. I was never told they were busy or short staffed, I did overhear the nurse say something along those lines to the doctor quietly, but she was explicitly not informing me. I appreciate and am grateful for the quality care the one nurse and doctor provided, but I cannot excuse the wait time I experienced.

So I've always felt valued anytime I went to the Brookings Emergency Department. They get you in quick. They take good care of you. They let you know what's going on. So very good communication. They really, really treat you like you're part of their family. They're not just the judges, just the patients. So really, really, really enjoyed it. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes, thank you. When I stopped there for help, I didn't know whether I was ill or not, but I didn't, I just had a bad feeling. They were so kind, took me in, did the test and found that I was indeed quite sick and issued a prescription and sent me on my way and told me to be sure to come back if there was anything wrong. I was really appreciative. and I'm glad that something like that is available.

You need to have someone in the arm that assesses patients. I told them that my AFib was acting up, the gal that checked us in, and there was nobody to evaluate me right away. If I was having a heart, I mean, I was obviously having a heart issue, but that kind of alarms me that you don't have them being assessed right away. I come in and the nurse asks, what are you being seen for? There's nobody there to assess you. It's like, what the heck? That elderly lady at the front obviously is not assessing anybody. That's a major concern. I've never seen an ER do that before.
