When people come into the emergency room in the middle of the night through ambulance and those people don't have a ride home or a way back home, they're either forced to pay for a cab or find someone. I think this should be something that should be worked on.

I'm just glad they were there to help me in my time of need.

I was in a great deal of pain and was so thankful there is emergency service available in Brookings.

The nurses and doctor were so kind and efficient

What I was most concerned about was the lack of communication between the doctor and the nurse that was helping me. The doctor, I had to wait a while and I understood that it was busy and that he did, but he didn't spend a lot of time with me. He explained what he wanted to do, but it seemed that when the nurse came in, I had to explain to the nurse what the doctor wanted him to do, which doesn't seem like the right thing to do. So there needs to be a little bit better communication in what the doctor said and what he requested and what, and telling the nurse what was happening.

Nurses and Lab technician did a great job. Dr. Did a wonderful job explaining to me what was going on. This ED is just so caring and kind.

I went in with chest pains, dehydration, pounding headaches, body aches, and a deep cough. They gave me an IV due to my lack of fluid intake, I am grateful for that. However, two days after my visit I had to make an emergency appointment with my primary doctor and found out I had Pneumonia. Without a chest X-Ray I would not have known I had that. The ER staff told me I was dehydrated and needed to eat bananas. They also encouraged me to take 500mg of Tylenol every four hours. I am now on FOUR different medications and still struggling with my cough and tight chest. I wish the ER staff took the time to do a chest x-ray when I was crying and complaining of chest pain.

The girl at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. All the employees were very helpful.

Nurses were very compassionate and caring. They were concerned about how i was feeling and patched the cut that I had on my forehead.

My whole experience couldn't have been any better. They did a really, really great job from checking in to checking out. Everybody was very fabulous. They were efficient. They were friendly, reassuring. Everything went real well. And I've never been in a place better managed in my life. Everyone there was great to work with. I give you guys a 125%. Thank you.

The lab gal was fantastic as was the gal doing the CT. My pain was severe and I was trying to keep myself calm and quite relieved when the Dr gave me something to help so fast!

Hello, my stay at the hospital was amazing. I mean, I obviously didn't feel good, but the nurses were so sweet. They were so attentive. As soon as an alarm would start beeping for my monitor, they were in the room and taking care of it. As soon as I hit the nurse button, they were in there taking care of it. They made me feel so looked after and so cared about. My only complaint was that the ice machine was broken, and not having ice cold water is a big down for me. It would have been nice to just have some really cold water. However, I did have one nurse that walked all the way to surgery just to get me some ice one time, and that was amazing. Everybody went above and beyond. Doctors were very nice. Nurses, super, super, super nice. Also, the TVs were broken. I wasn't really in the mood to watch TV, but for some people that would be a problem. So it seems like they're having problems with things breaking down in the hospital.

It was a lot of waiting and they had put an iv in my hand and blew the vien so my hand was bruised and sore for well over 2 weeks. Other than that i had a good experience

Doctor was wonderful. Nurses were very kind. They got me in promptly. A couple of the nurses had difficulty with my IVs, which is partially my fault. But I have records there that show that that's always been difficulty. But yet someone still wants to try to reinvent the wheel when I come in there and stab me where there's nothing but veins that aren't any good. I've been there in the last four years probably three or four times. So they should know by now that you can't just start poking me. The fourth attempt I got an IV.

The visit was well done. Everyone did things efficiently, knew what they were doing and seemed to reflect that and they're dealing with it. So it was a very professional and easy event and a somewhat concerning situation for us. Thank you very much for your help.

I think your facility is wonderful. You have great doctors, great nurses, great phlebotomists, great techs. They were all very good to me. The only thing that I think is thicker blankets for the patients, because I had like five or six blankets on me and I was still cold. The heating blankets are great, but maybe just thicker blankets. That's the only thing I can think of. Otherwise, you have a great department. I thank you guys for everything you do every time I come.

We arrived on Friday night, and my daughter was bleeding in a spot that a normal 7-year-old would not, and it probably took 15 minutes just to get out of that initial waiting room. But then it took almost 2 hours before she could get Tylenol. So she's in great pain from her accident, and I had to step out twice to ask for the Tylenol. I also was not too impressed that the doctor didn't call an OBGYN or a PE doctor right away when he knew of the accident. That way she could have got evaluated. So we ended up being in the ER for about 4 hours that night. And with being a little person that she is, it just seemed a little too lengthy of a time for it to be an emergency room. Thanks.

My daughter was in the ER and the diagnosis was missed. She went to the ENT a couple days later and they identified that she did have an infection and a wound and so it was missed in the ER.

Get doctors that are willing to actually run tests on patients instead of assume what is wrong with a child patient.

I was impressed with the care received. The nurse and doctor were kind, compassionate and efficient.

I'm very satisfied with the doctor that helped me, Dr. Happy is what I call him. And all the nurses were fantastic as well. They were able to assist me and monitor me very well. So I really do appreciate that. Thank you very much.

Always feel like the doctors at your ER don't care why you are there unless it's life threatening. I was there 2 times within 24 hours for a severely infected tooth and neither time did the doctors seem to care I needed help. If there was anywhere else to go in an emergency I definitely would.

The service was absolutely amazing. My nurse, hands down, phenomenal. All the EMT staff, all of like the people checking me in, everything were great. I really appreciate that. Everybody was kind and calm and very informative. I think my nurse, can't remember her name, hands down, deserves a raise. The doctor was great, very informative. Only thing I think that you guys could improve on with your staff is somebody like me who came in with a broken bone, teach them how to do a splint maybe a little better. I know they try with what they've got, but I had to get it redone within a day or two. But other than that, everything was wonderful.

It was on your timetable, you weren't willing to listen to me and you kicked me out before I had any idea what I was head for an answer. So I was very disappointed in the care at your hospital. Thank you very much. I hope you improve.

The doctor that took care of me has taken care of me and members of my family when they were in a car accident. And I think he is absolutely wonderful and a very, very smart man. He also detected pneumonia on me before that. I had no idea I had. God bless his little soul.

From the time we got there and met with the receptionist to the time we left, I have to say hands down, that was the best experience I've ever had in the emergency room and care for my child. I was highly impressed with the speed, the courtesy, the friendliness, everything of everybody we dealt with there. So thank you very much and if somebody listens to this and you can contact the receptionist, the nurses, the lady who did the CAT scan and especially the doctor, I would like to give them a sincere thank you and that I really appreciate the way they treated us and the way they took care of my child.

The nurses were very kind and thoughtful and yeah very kind and the doctor was too.

Brookings ER is a great place to go in an emergency. Not only did they take good care of me, they also allowed my wife and I to remain in the waiting room, while a Police Officer arranged for a lock specialist to unlock our auto. We had locked our keys in the auto and the receptionist on duty was the kindest and most helpful person.

GREAT SERVICE

They got me taken care of in a timely manner and made sure I knew everything that needed to be done for the future. And they did a tremendous job.

I brought my child to the ED to determine if she had a ligament tear of her knee. When we were brought back, no one talked to us. No one explained what was going on. A tech was going to start an IV on her without even telling her she was going to start an IV. She was just going to poke her. There was no reason to start an IV. After inquiring about it, they continued to start the IV. Both veins in both arms were missed, and ultimately, they never started an IV, and they never drew blood from her. When the doctor came in to assess her after the X-ray, he bent her knee and straightened her knee, and that was the only range of motion that was done on her knee, none of which would have determined a ligament tear. They were going to send us home without giving us more information.

The emergency room doctor and the nurse were both exceptional and such a pleasure to be around.

It would help if the emergency room doctor would have also looked at my white count when I was complaining about stomach. I ended up back in the hospital on Wednesday. Thank you.

A-1 staff,nurse,and Doctor

The staff was gentle and attentive throughout my incident. Emts arrived quickly and immediately started to care for me. I was given respect and full information.

My family was able to stay in the room with me until I was discharged.

Everyone was very helpful. The wait time in the waiting room was long.

Hi, just wanted to leave a couple comments. While I did receive care at the emergency room, we just really found both myself and my dog that accompanied me. The level of urgency did not seem to be there. I was in a lot of pain. And you know, the nurses, really with the exception of the one that discharged me that night, didn't seem overly concerned at all. And while I know they deal with lots of levels of trauma, I was in a considerable amount of pain and I was just really surprised that it took them 40 minutes to get something administered to help aid in that pain. And on top of that, in that 40 minutes, no one even checked on me. My daughter went out to the hallway. It wasn't because they were overly busy.

You guys weren't worth nothing. I had to go to Sanford about my leg instead of my ankle. You guys are a bunch of idiots. Bye.
