Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough lashes. It helps to gradually grow eyelashes longer, fuller and darker. Latisse works by dabbing the solution on the upper lash line with sterile applicators each night for 16 weeks. Latisse both extends the growth phase and increases the number of eyelashes that grow.

Why Eyelashes Change

As people age, their eyelashes often change. Like hairs on the head, eyelashes sprout, grow for a while, and eventually fall out. Eyelash follicles, the openings in the skin through which the lash grows, can slow or stop producing new eyelashes altogether. For some people, the lashes can become shorter.

Regular wear and tear can damage eyelashes, causing them not to grow as thick and long as they did when we were younger. Rubbing and tugging at our eyelids can damage eyelashes as well as sleeping in mascara and wearing water-proof mascara, which can be drying.

Great eyelashes won’t just happen overnight. Latisse solution works gradually with full results at week 16. Once you begin, you must continue applying the topical solution each night and follow the directions for best results. If you stop using Latisse at any time, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.

As the treatment progresses, you’ll first notice changes in length. Gradually you’ll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. When you start using Latisse, mark your calendar and take pictures at weeks 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16 to show your own before and after progress.
