Patient Financial Counselors

Our patient financial counselors help patients navigate their health care bills and answer questions. Services offered include:

• Inpatient Care Visits: our counselors introduce themselves to patients who stay in Brookings Hospital and their families to answer any payment questions or concerns.
• Payment Plan Setup: our counselors can assist patients in setting up a payment plan either before or after their hospital visit.
• Payment Assistance: for uninsured or underinsured patients, our counselors can direct patients to appropriate payment assistance resources they may qualify for.
• Collections Guidance: for patients whose bills have been sent to collections, our counselors may offer guidance on how to best work with collection agencies regarding medical bills.
