Happy summer! We sure have been busy here at The Neighborhoods the last few months and the rest of summer looks to be just as busy. Outings and trips into the community are in full swing, and boy, have we been busy! In May we went to The Dollar Tree, the public library, Medary Acres and Perkins. These outings are typically attended by around 25 or so residents. A lot of planning, coordinating, effort and work is put in to outings like this. I can’t say THANKS enough to the great staff that assist with making these outings run so smoothly!

June was spent “on the road” again after our annual birthday balloon release to celebrate five years of being open! This event took place Monday, June 4. All residents came outside to release balloons and enjoy root beer floats. In addition three trips to KFC were put in the books, a day of fishing at the Dakota Nature Park, and a father/friend luncheon… whew! Make sure and ask your loved one about all the fun things we do around here!

July looks to be busy as well. A trip to a dairy farm by Volga is first on the list, followed by the Watertown Zoo trip, then Ground Round for lunch, and finally a tour of the fire station here in town! If you come to visit and we’re not here, we’re busy out on the town!

Please continue to watch the monthly calendar for specific dates of all our big events/trips. We are always in need of volunteers and help on all these outings. If you’re interested, give us a call at (605) 696-8716.

RESIDENT/FAMILY PICNIC IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY AUGUST 10! MORE INFORMATION TO COME!
