Brookings Hospital is an acute care hospital with 49 licensed patient beds that offers inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical specialty services to residents in the Brookings region.
We provide local access to doctors in Brookings and offer both robotic da Vinci surgery and Mako robotic-arm assisted procedures, making Brookings Hospital one of the premier rural community hospitals in South Dakota.
Expansion & Renovation
Completed in 2017, the expanded and renovated Brookings Hospital enables Brookings Health System to meet the health care needs of our growing community. We added a 62,500 square foot hospital to house surgery, medical imaging, inpatient care and obstetrics. We also added a 30,000 square foot medical office building, the Medical Plaza, for specialists who benefit from direct access to the hospital. We also added a new front entrance off of 22nd Avenue and renovated existed hospital space for services such as cardiopulmnoary rehabilitation, outreach, and respiratory care. Other benefits of the project include:
