Brookings Health System Foundation, created on December 30, 2009, was formed to help build and support Brookings Health System. It is a 501(c)(3) organization, legally separate from the health system, and is governed by its own board of trustees.

Brookings Health System Foundation recently received a $25,000 3M grant from the 3M Capital Investments 2018 program in support of the new Ambulance Station and Education Center currently being constructed along Yorkshire Drive.
Two years ago on Sept. 2, 2016, the Friday before Labor Day, Brookings Health System’s ambulance service was called to an accident along U.S. Highway 14 west of Volga. An east-bound 2001 Oldsmobile crossed the center line, colliding head-on with the car driven by Medary Elementary Art Teacher Jennifer Moser.
