Brookings Health System Foundation will hold the eleventh annual Aiming to Inspire Health sporting clays fundraiser, presented by First Bank & Trust, on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Medary Creek Hunt Club, rural Aurora, S.D.

In conjunction with the fundraiser, Brookings Health System Foundation will also raffle a Benelli ultra-light 12 gauge shotgun at the conclusion of the event on Thursday, Aug. 13. The raffle is sponsored by Sanford Health Brookings Clinic.

Only 250 raffle tickets will be sold, costing $20 each. In addition to the grand prize, a second prize will be drawn for a YETI cooler filled with hunting supplies. Tickets may be purchased online at brookingshealth.org/Raffle or by calling Brookings Health System Foundation at (605) 696-8855.

Proceeds from the sporting clays fundraiser and raffle will be directed towards the Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund.

“Our community has been very supportive of Brookings Health this spring and summer during the COVID-19 threat. Thank-you for your continued generosity,” said CEO Jason Merkley. “As we continue to weather this pandemic, personal protective equipment, testing kits, and other necessary supplies will be an ongoing need to safely care for patients and protect our care team. The COVID-19 fund will help us purchase needed items until a vaccine is developed or a cure is found for this particular coronavirus.”

For the health and safety of all participants, COVID-19 precautions will be taken at the event, including masking and social distancing. Participants will receive a meal plus ammunition provided by Runnings. Over $2,000 in prizes will be awarded. Registration costs $250 per five-person team or $65 per individual. To register, please go online to brookingshealth.org/AIH. Deadline is Friday, Aug. 7.

The Foundation encourages families, businesses, youths and adults to participate in the sporting clays event and purchase a raffle ticket in support of the COVID-19 Response Fund and local health care.
