Brookings Health System was recently named one of the Top 20 Rural Community Hospitals in the United States by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

The Top 20 Rural Community Hospitals, including Brookings Health System, are those which scored the highest on the iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index™. Brookings Health System ranked at the 99th percentile of all rural and community hospitals in the nation on the Hospital Strength Index.

“We are honored to be named to this elite list of hospitals,” said CEO Jason Merkley. “Delivering high-quality, compassionate, personalized health care to patients comes first at Brookings Health System. Our team’s focus on delivering this level of patient care with the best possible outcomes and satisfaction has catapulted us to the top one percent of rural and community hospitals in the nation.”

The Top 20 Rural Community Hospital winners are those hospitals who have achieved success in the overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charges and financial stability. An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit conference May 11 in San Diego, Calif.

The group was selected from iVantage’s Top 100 Rural Community Hospital list, released earlier this year and located at www.iVantageINDEX.com. More information about Brookings Health System’s care quality can be found at www.brookingshealth.org/Quality.
