Overby Joins Brookings Health System’s Anesthesia Team

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Amber Overby recently joined Brookings Health System’s anesthesia department.

Overby received her master’s in nurse anesthesia from Mount Marty College Sioux Falls and is also a graduate of SDSU’s nursing program. She has six years of medical experience, including experience as a nurse in the intensive care unit at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

As a member of the anesthesia department, Overby provides anesthetic care for patients of all ages, from initial evaluation to discharge. She works closely with surgeons and the entire operating room team to provide patients pain relief before, during and after surgery.

Brookings Health System’s anesthesia department offers personalized pain management for patients, including general anesthesia, sedation, spinal, epidural and labor epidural. In addition, the anesthesia team provides invasive and non-invasive pain relief techniques along with patient-controlled painkillers.
