First Patients Treated at Brookings Hospital Expansion Today

After 16 months of construction, health care providers treated the first patients at the new Brookings Hospital expansion today. All services, including radiology, surgery, pharmacy, obstetrics and inpatient care, are moved into the building and are operational.

Hospitalist Program to Start at New Brookings Hospital

Starting Feb. 13, Brookings Health System will implement a new hospitalist program to provide focused care for inpatients staying at Brookings Hospital. The program will launch almost one week after the new hospital opens on Feb. 7.

Brookings Health System scored 97 of 100 points on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) most recent survey of Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care (mPINC). The score places Brookings Health in the top 3% of the 2,582 facilities surveyed nationwide.
